FAQs
What are symptoms of a soy allergy?
Only 1 out of 3000 people have a soy allergy. Soy does not present any unusual risks of allergic responses and is less allergenic than cow’s milk. If you feel you have a soy allergy, consult your doctor. The most common symptom is an upset stomach after eating soy foods (although an upset stomach doesn’t necessarily mean you have an allergy).
What about herbs for menopause?
Studies show that soy protein plus soy isoflavones may provide additional numerous benefits over herbs including weight loss, heart disease reduction and younger-looking skin/hair/nails.
Can I take Revival Soy while I’m breast feeding my baby?
As with any dietary plan or supplementation during pregnancy or breast feeding, you should discuss this with your physician to determine what is best for you.
Is Revival Soy a “complete” protein? Is Revival Soy an “isolated” soy protein?
Yes and yes. Revival Soy is a complete protein source of all essential amino acids and non-essential amino acids. Revival Soy is as good as egg white, casein (milk) or whey proteins. Revival Soy blends a protein-rich “isolated” portion with an isoflavone-rich portion from the heart of the soybean. The Revival Soy protein-rich isolate is about 90% protein and contains all of the natural beneficial compounds found in soy. Naturally-Concentrated to Work™
Does Revival Soy have certified isoflavone levels?
Our shakes are periodically tested by independent lab HPLC analysis to confirm approximately ~160 milligrams of soy isoflavones per serving. Because it is a natural concentration process, there will always be variations in actual levels.
What are soy isoflavones and soy saponins?
Isoflavones and saponins are two of the beneficial phytonutrients found in soy.
Am I getting too much estrogen if I take Revival Soy with prescription estrogens?
Soy protein will not raise your body’s estrogen levels.
Can I enjoy soy while using prescription medications?
Use of any healthy food with a prescription medication should be discussed with your doctor. The makers of Synthroid® state Synthroid® should always be taken on an empty stomach. An empty stomach means that it has been at least 2 – 3 hours since eating or drinking (other than water). After you take your Synthroid®, you should wait at least one hour before you eat or drink anything other than water.
Does Revival Soy cause flatulence (gas)?
A small number of people experience flatulence (gas) or constipation with the consumption of bean products such as soy. This is due to an inability to digest the natural carbohydrates found in beans. A digestive enzyme will provide your body with the enzymes needed to properly digest and absorb soy protein. You can also try dividing your protein shake into 2 separate servings. By doing this, you’re less likely to overload your digestive system.
How can Revival Soy help me lose weight?
As we all know, the secret to losing weight is both exercise and healthy eating. Soy protein is great for weight loss. Research has shown that protein can help you feel full longer thus helping you to resist the urge to snack between meals and at night. There is no miracle weight loss solution but Revival Soy can certainly help and you are getting the full health benefits of soy protein!
